Carpet Cleaning Technician Course

Learning Objectives

This IICRC-approved Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT) course is designed to teach the art and science of carpet cleaning to professional service providers, as well as others in related industries.

Emphasis is placed on practical application, identifying fiber, yarn, and carpet constructions, style types and finishes, soiling conditions, cleaning science and methodology, and other issues and concerns faced by individuals who maintain and clean installed broadloom carpet.

After completion students should be adequately prepared to perform carpet cleaning techniques and procedures.

The course is designed to cover pre-inspection, fabric identification, basic cleaning chemicals and equipment, and proper cleaning techniques and procedures with a residential and light commercial emphasis.

This course covers topics such as:

  • Carpet construction
  • Fiber identification
  • Cleaning chemistry
  • Cleaning methods
  • Interactive training with a live instructor
  • Hands-on training for maximized learning
  • Student manual for use in the field

Prerequisite Training required: None required

Training Time: This is a 2 day course; 14 hours, not including exam time, lunch and breaks with 2 IICRC CEC’s earned.

Note: Retail per attendee $1,449 which also includes a course manual. Exam fees are additional and must be paid at time of exam. Exam fees are $65.00 USD per person and fees are payable directly to the IICRC.

About your Instructor:

Art Johnson

Art Johnson CR, WLS, CLS, started in the Restoration industry in1988. He went from a 2-person company doing carpet and upholstery cleaning to assisting in the growth of one of western Canada’s largest, independently owned, full service restoration companys. Basically he went from a one-man tech to Senior Operations Manager and Trainer.

Art is a Certified Restorer (CR), a Water Loss Specialist (WLS), a Contents Loss Specialist (CLS), an IICRC Master Restorer and Cleaner, and a Certified Value Builder. Art has proudly served on, and for a time, chaired the Water Loss Institute, co-chaired the Restoration Council, along with serving as the Environmental Chair for the RIA.

He is the proud recipient of the RIA 2011 Industry recognized, Martin L. King award for outstanding service to the industry.

Art has extensive training and experience in all aspects of the restoration industry and is passionate about training and helping others transform their business to obtain their goals.
